This site is authored by Rabbi Chanan Zevin, grandson of the renowned Torah scholar Rabbi Shlomo Yosef Zevin, one of the leading figures in the Torah world of the previous generation and the founding editor of the Talmudic Encyclopedia.
Rabbi Chanan was educated at Midrashiyat Noam in Pardes Hanna, a pioneering institution known for cultivating Torah scholars with deep spiritual sensitivity. It uniquely combines in-depth Torah study with a Religious-Zionist spirit and a profound love for the people of Israel.
He later continued his studies at the famed Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, one of the world's most prestigious centers of Torah learning.
There, he absorbed the teachings of the great Torah leaders of the generation and received rabbinic ordination from the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Dov Povarsky.
During his years at the yeshiva, he authored two scholarly works:
One is on Tractate Yevamot, delving into the intricate laws of levirate marriage and chalitzah, and the other is on Tractate Bava Kamma, exploring civil damages through a clear and methodical integration of classical sources.
This blog continues his grandfather's legacy of bringing the profound depths of Torah to life in an accessible, relevant, and faithful manner, rooted in tradition yet open to the modern generation.
